"Without a Paddle" is now in bookstores everywhere. If it is not in your local bookstore, they can order it for you, or you can order it online. If you need the ISBN number it is: 9780312630768. Or you can just ask for "Without a Paddle" by Warren Richey. For more information about the book, I have a website: www.warrenrichey.com.

I will happily sign any of your books and will make myself available at future Watertribe events for that purpose. I will also be appearing at bookstores in the next few months and it would be great to see friendly faces in the audience. Dates, times, and places are posted on my website.

I have only one request, if you like the book -- and I mean really like it -- please tell your friends and help spread the word. Post about it on your blog, forum, or website. Write an online review or a few lines on Amazon. Give it as a gift. Send copies to the troops overseas.

One last word: There isn't any way I could ever give back to Chief and the Tribe everything I've received over the years. And I want you all to know how deeply grateful I am for what you have created.

Paddle or die.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon and it came today.  I'm looking foreward to reading it but my reading is slower than my paddling so it might take a while.  Paddle on!

Amazon delivered my pre-order on 6/9.  Read the first 126 pages right after dinner.  It is a great story that is well told.  Highly recommend it.

Mine arrived today.  Of course, I don't have to read all of it because Sharkchow read it to us at Key Largo.  Can't Wait to read the rest!

Thanks Warren.

I'm only half way through it, and I might be a little biassed, but this might be the best report of a paddling adventure ever. Sharkchow has captured perfectly the ongoing struggle between the illusion of fear in our minds and the reality of our human quest to overcome it.

Thanks Warren for opening up the most personal aspects of your life to us! Your story has added a new level to this life changing adventure we simply call a "Challenge".

I can't wait to see the movie!

After resolving battery problems with the Nook, I finally downloaded the book yesterday. I was up reading until I could no longer keep my eyes open last night. Definitely a good read!

What can I possibly say that does justice to this book? It was a great read. I laughed and smiled throughout, page by page. I sat and thought about certain passages that made me reflect on my life. Sharkchow captured the essence of a WaterTribe challenge and the essence of life.

The really nice thing about Without a Paddle is the title. You don't need to be paddler or sailor to really enjoy this book.

Without a Paddle is a gift to all of us. Thank you.

Sharkchow,

I am heading to Europe the end of this week for a cruise (no paddling required), so I purchased and downloaded the Kindle version onto my iPhone last night.  Worried that "Without a Paddle" would not hold my interest on the flight, I "opened" the book last night..... That was not prudent.... I could not put it down and have already finished reading it!

There are many things that go on inside the cockpit during a 1200 mile race, some are race issues (camping, eating, etc) but many are not.  The book touches on all the issues- including the myriad of emotions and sometimes truly odd thoughts that go through one’s mind.

Perhaps the best compliment that I can give the book is that I have posted on numerous occasions that DevoMan's 10 Tips are a must read for new entrants into the EC.   For those who want a good feeling of what it is like to be in a 1200 mile event, "Without a Paddle" captures that and much more.

Great read!  Thanks for taking the time to write it and share part of your on and off the water experiences.

Hey, I just left a review on Amazon.com about this book and was surprised that no one else has done so.

When I purchase a book I tend to look at the reviews- adding a review would be "a good thing."

Sharkchow,

I am looking forward to getting my copy at your signing in Atlantic Beach on 7/16. Any chance you would like to join my wife and I and a few friends for dinner afterwards?

Warren

My son manages a bookstore in Suquamish, WA.  They have already sold out the first order and have ordered more.  The second order is doing so well they have already ordered more.  The book holds thespecial spot right ouot front.  They have special authors do readings.  If you are planning on a visit to the Olympic Peninsula I know the Eagle Harbor Bookstore would really like to have you do a reading and book signing there.

Your book is special!!!!

Wow.

I finished the book last night, but it might be a few days before I can step away from it enough to write a proper review (which I will do, and post on Amazon and other book sites).

Wow.

Read it.

Paddle or die, indeed.

A few nights ago I was talking with Whale and he gave me a copy of Without a Paddle.  I came back home and cracked open the book while watching the Tour de France.  I did not get past the first page before I turned the TV off to find a quiet corner in the house.  I truly enjoyed the read.  Sharkchow’s done a great job capturing the spirit of the race.  I have bought three copies for friends and family.

The Versus channel calls the Tour de France “The Most Epic Race Ever.”  Obliviously the producers have not read Warren’s book.  I only have two words for Chief on how to improve his Watertribe events – Podium Girls!!
