Fort Desoto | 3/6/2004 | For years we did long trips with sailing Klepper boats and then we moved to a Sea Pearl 21 eight years ago. We are looking forward to talking to the others in the race and seeing the other boats. |
CP1, 67 Miles Grande Tours | 3/8/2004 1:15:00 AM | We were becalmed but then had a beautiful sail, full moon, it just could not be better. |
CP2, 174 Miles Chokoloskee | 3/9/2004 11:05:00 PM | Great sail today from Ft. Myers Beach. Tough row up against tide from open water. We are doing fine. Getting sleep. Surfed 11 mph today. |
CP3, 273 Miles Flamingo | 3/11/2004 9:30:00 AM | Almost made it last night but ran aground and slept until tide - 6 miles away. Fabulous sail before the wind from Everglades City. Stopped for sightseeing in Rabbit Key. Nice place to spend a week. |
Finish, 303 Miles Key Largo | 3/12/2004 9:45:00 PM | Wonderful rowing trip through Florida Bay to Cfrocodile Dragover to where we set sail at dragover. Two rowing stations moved us on. Beautiful seascape, fabulous birds, tricky navigation. |
