Boat Description: | Kruger Dreamcatcher with Balogh Sail and BOSS. Also, able to catamaran with another Dreamcatcher as part of an ad hoc team. | |
Fort Desoto | 3/6/2004 | The plan is for a 6 day cruise. I'll get 4 REM cycles every night and still arrive in time for the party on Saturday. |
CP1, 67 Miles Grande Tours | 3/7/2004 5:02:00 PM | The slowest 68 miles that I have ever done. Heading back out tonight, directly from Boca Grand to Indian Key. |
CP2, 174 Miles Chokoloskee | 3/8/2004 6:30:00 PM | This has been the most exhillarating sailing day in my life. Endless surfing at over 10 knots with only a couple of near broaches. And it was fun to scare the Bejesus out of ManitouCruiser. |
CP3, 273 Miles Flamingo | 3/9/2004 7:05:00 PM | Another great day in a Challenge. Good wind almost the whole way. ManitouCruiser is a great partner. |
Finish, 303 Miles Key Largo | 3/10/2004 5:07:00 AM | Well, we went a bit faster than my original plan. Along about Placida Mark and I decided to turn it on and go fast. After two of the slowest days of paddling ever, we had two of the fastest days sailing ever. The catamaraned Dreamcatchers or Sea Winds with a Balogh rig is THE way to go for class 3. |
