Re: Keep Your Tracking Active
Need to add a little more on Garmin inReach. The Garmin Mini (and maybe more) has a few preset messages that we interpret as follows: Some Garmin devices have preset messages that cannot be changed by users. Currently these messages are as follows: • “I’m checking in, everything is OK.” -- We will se ...

Re: Keep Your Tracking Active
Race Owl won't go fully active until the events start. I only see one OK Message on the WaterTribe Tracker. Garmin is a bit tricky to work with because their messages use different formats and can also be setup by the users. We take their messages and convert them to our standard OK, Custom, and ...

Re: Race owl
I will be posting that info soon. There will be a link near the top of the Tracking Map page to get your boat number. I might even get that done today. The link that is up now is for 2025. I'll post an update as soon as it is done.

Re: Help Setting Up Garmin InReach
Both Garmin and Spot have a habit of changing their systems from time to time. But what follows is my Garmin setup which works and many others do it the same way. My shared link is - https://share.garmin.com/WTChief note that is uses my Garmin ID. My Garmin ID is WTChief which is then used to build ...

Keep Your Tracking Active
I would like to send our tracking information to Race Owl. In order to do that, we have to have current tracking points for every participant. From now until the start of the EC and UM we need to send at least one OK Message every week. In order to assure that, I suggest twice a week. You can send ...

Re: Jib reefing?
That might be OK. First, how easy is it to douse the sail? Once the sail is down, how easy is it to add a new sail. Consider that the whole reason for reefing is higher winds and bigger seas, As a new WaterTriber, you will be asked to demonstrate this process during your inspection. If you make it ...
