Quick reference maps

Here is a helpful little book of maps I made a couple of years ago that gives mileages to the next CP for each leg of the EC.

When on the water on a challenge I refer to a printed out copy of these maps often to help me plan strategy as conditions change. These are not not a substitute for a real set of charts, though.
As checkpoint captains, we use this a lot to try to help us estimate when people will arrive.
These are also useful for your friends and family back home to easily see how far you have go before they might hear from you. (But you really should call more often....)
