The first step in the Event Registration process is your Lifejacket Inspection. Every year we have lots of Challengers who don't get it right. If this is your first time, i really need to checkout this PDF:
https://WaterTribe.com/PDF/MustRead/Min ... ements.pdf.

Hi Chief, thanks for the info - one question - does the PLB have to be in a pocket? I usually have mine lashed onto the shoulder strap of my PFD. Thanks!

No, the PLB does not have to be in a pocket. However, a pocket gives a small amount of protection to the PLB. But that is up to you.
The PLB must be attached with a lanyard.

The document referenced at the start of this thread was just updated. The new version points out some special information regarding inflatable PFDs. Inflatable PFDs are allowed if the meet all of the minimum requirements. If you plan to use an inflatable PFD in WaterTribe events, make sure you checkout the above document.
There is also an update to the Required Equipment that will be available soon. Basically, if you are using an inflatable lifejacket, you must have TWO re-arming kits at inspection, and you must have at least ONE re-arming kit with you during the event.
Why two at inspection and at least one during the event? Because you might be asked to demonstrate manual inflation using your CO2 cartridge. Then you must re-arm leaving one re-arm kit for the duration of the event.
