Help Setting Up Garmin InReach
I recently switched over from Spot Messenger to Garmin InReach. I tried setting up my tracker with the LiveTrack custom ID (mine was dyll) and then the MapShare option (random generated ID 7N3O6G9APQ). Neither have worked for me. Which one is correct? Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
Re: Help Setting Up Garmin InReach
Both Garmin and Spot have a habit of changing their systems from time to time. But what follows is my Garmin setup which works and many others do it the same way.
My shared link is - https://share.garmin.com/WTChief note that is uses my Garmin ID.
My Garmin ID is WTChief which is then used to build the XML Feed.
So use your Garming ID and make sure you have things set to share with the public.

Re: Help Setting Up Garmin InReach
Thanks Chief. I am working now.
Garmin seems to be defaulting to LiveTrack. I finally figured out how to switch to MapShare. What I didn't do was change the default url to custom one. (Its now tdyll). I think it was already defaulting to public. I tried it on a different computer and it worked. But there is a MapShare settings where you set the vanity (custom) name. Once its done you can tell on the main MapShare page that you are set to public. Hope this helps out others who may struggle with this.

I see you on the map now so it looks good. Can't wait to see you on the beach.
