Changes Coming to Boat Classes

I think we have too many boat classes. I am discussing this with a group of WaterTribe Elders. No decision has been made yet, but I plan to decide one way or another before the NC Events.

- Class 1 - Expedition size sea kayak or canoe with or without a sail. Includes rowing hulls. If using a sail, area <= 1 square meter.
- Class 2 - Racing sea kayak or canoe no sail allowed. Includes single outrigger canoes and rowing hulls. Determined by length to beam ratio.
- Class 3 - An expedition size sea kayak or canoe with a sail and amas that can be stored inside and/or outside in a seaworthy manner.
- Class 4 - Monohull sailboat. Less than 600 pounds and <= 22 feet.
- Class 5 Multihull Sailboat. Less than 600 pounds and <= 22 feet.
- Class 6 Solar Power Electric. Less than 600 pounds and <+ 22 feet.
- Class 7 SUP.
